Joresa Blount is a journalist who reports on technology and innovation with a niche for profiling CEOs and founders of some of the most disrupted businesses in Silicon Valley. After a year of major setbacks in 2015 that included losing two jobs and having a major surgery, Blount created the digital talk show, The Comeback Series. As the host and producer, she interviews women who have had a defining setback that pushed them to go after their God-given purpose. Her passion for women and the tech space has led her to curate events for entrepreneurs and women in tech called Brown Girls Innovate Too.
Originally from North Carolina, Blount graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with a bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies and Creative Writing. In 2009, she launched, Celeb Locale, a digital talk show that gave actors and independent filmmakers a platform to promote their work. In 2014, she was named Woman to Watch by Ambition Magazine. In 2016, Blount graced the cover of the inaugural issue for Faith Heart Magazine as she revealed her own comeback story.
Blount released her first book, #IChoseMe: Coming Back From Heartbreak and other Bad Relationships, in December 2016. The book is her call to action for women to stop compromising their purpose with toxic relationships, pick up their crown and get back to becoming the woman God is calling her to be. In addition, her e-course, 8daycomeback.com, helps women to identify their blocks, get over fear, and walk in their purpose. When she’s not working her way to the top, she’s enjoying a good cup of coffee at a cute cafe.
