Planning a corporate event, launch party, or brand activation is no simple feat in Manhattan—or in any of NYC’s ever-burgeoning boroughs for that matter. Your guests are discerning (and so are you), so you want to be sure to make an appropriate impact. And while you might be sure you have every detail down and an expert team ready to execute, choosing the wrong venue can wreck even the best-laid event plans. There’s certainly no shortage of NYC event spaces that exude luxury, but there may be more (or less) than meets the eye behind the scenes. As a team well-versed in NYC events, we’ve learned a thing or two about this city’s venues, so let us help you cut to the crème de la crème.
Of the most coveted NYC event spaces, these are the six that stand out for their singular architecture, full-service offerings, and unfaltering ability to impress:
Angel Orensanz Foundation for the Arts
With its Sistine-esque ceilings and stunning architecture, this neo-gothic venue is a jewel among NYC event spaces. Past events range from ethereal to adventurous; from a paper-flower wedding to a carnival-themed company launch—each is imbued with artistry that is part of the building’s foundation. Built-in 1849, this former Ansche Chesed Synagogue was designed in the style of the German Reform Movement of the mid-19th century and borrows extensively from the Rome’s Sistine Chapel. The Angel Orensanz Foundation is now a pristinely preserved cultural hub that attracts those who don’t just want to plan an event, but create a memorable experience. Visit the website
620 Loft & Garden
Follow the white rabbit that flounces up 5th Avenue, to the top of 65 Rockefeller Plaza, and be transported to a verdant wonderland. This gorgeous NYC event space boasts unparalleled views: guests will find themselves eye-to-steeple with St. Patricks Cathedral. The meticulously manicured gardens are ripe for mingling, with a reflective pool at the center. The indoor space is a blank slate, with room for branding displays and custom configurations, and wrap-around windows that bring in the sparkle of Midtown Manhattan. Ideally-located and customizable, this is an excellent venue for weddings, parties, corporate events, fundraisers (if, of course, you have the budget!). Visit the website
Hudson Mercantile
If you can dream it, you can host it at Hudson Mercantile—a series of modern, minimal event spaces on the west side of Manhattan. Situated proximate to Chelsea, it boats an industrial-elegant air—ideal for brand activations, launches, and presentations. Between the Gallery, the Studio, and the Roof you can create a multi-sensory experience, moving guests from one activation to the next. The event space also comes fully equipped for everything from photoshoots or to large-scale, high-tech experiences. For those with a substantial guest list—and a penchant to impress—Hudson Mercantile delivers. Visit the website
The Foundry
The allure of this meticulously restored 19th-century building draws droves of event hosts and guests across the East River to Long Island City. The industrial brick alcove is swathed in abundant greenery, cultivating a sense of intimacy and privacy—a true Oasis in Queens. You’ll find 3,000+ ft of raw space, an enchanting courtyard, and rooftop terrace with views of the Manhattan skyline. If you’re planning a wedding, we suggest planting yourself on the waitlist here, but it’s also brilliant for corporate events, parties, launches, and photoshoots. Visit the website
Brooklyn Botanic Garden
Gazebos galore and greenhouses prime for receptions: the Brooklyn Botanic Garden makes exemplary use its stunning space to create outside-of-the-box experiences for guests. Its two dedicated event spaces meld with the gorgeous grounds: There’s the glass-ensconced Palm House that spills onto the Lilly Pool Terrace, and the high-windowed Atrium, roofed in greenery, that looks out over the Cherry Esplanade. If you want to host your event in an iconic NYC location, but desire the appeal of a natural setting, the Botanic Garden offers the best of everything NYC has to offer. We can’t imagine a more dreamy event space—if you can manage to get on the waitlist! Visit the website
Guastavino’s
This landmark NYC event space literally emerged from the bones of the city, adapted from a canopy of vaults beneath the Queensboro Bridge, which opened in 1909. It was designed by Barcelona architect Rafael Guastavino, who worked with his son to turn the space into a commercial building, drawing heavily from the Boveda Catalan tradition. In 1973, it was officially declared a NYC landmark, and is now utilized exclusively for events. The rich architecture adds pomp to any circumstance imaginable, and the Rose Garden is a beautiful spot for private gatherings and photo opps. Ample square footage, personal event coordinators, and a full-service production partner are big selling points—especially if you’re planning a launch or a corporate event meant to impress.
