The gateway to the upstate cultural and creative corridor, the re-envisioned and carefully updated Troutbeck will be what it was to so many before us: inspiration, respite, restoration, folly, community, nature and nurture – carrying forward its 250-year legacy of hospitality. Historic details remain amongst contemporary updates. And, now, in the hands of a new generation, the house, grounds and services all reflect a certain ease, promoting a social and relaxed atmosphere whilst achieving a high standard of luxury.
Troutbeck has always been a convening place. Beloved by Ralph Waldo Emerson, Henry David Thoreau, John Burroughs, Mark Twain, Ernest Hemmingway, Gov. Teddy Roosevelt and Lewis Mumford, amongst others.
Situated on 45 bucolic acres in the Hudson Valley, the area provides a myriad of activities. Just under a two-hour drive from Manhattan, or, from Grand Central Terminal via MetroNorth rail to Wassaic, NY – thirteen times per day.
