What do John Lennon, Rosa Parks, Mark Zuckerberg all have in common? The answer= Audacity.
*Being audacious, meaning taking risks for an idea or creative project. It means feeling the fear one has in doing something they love or have never tried before, but doing it anyway. Being audacious is one of the eight principles of the Blender Entrepreneur Salon series.
We will discuss and explore the role audacity has played in the lives of people who have found success following their hearts desire, and changed the world.
Ray Dalio, founder of the hedge fund Bridgewater is listed on the Forbes list as one of the world’s richest men. In his New York Times #1 best selling book “Principles” he describes audacity as a key fundamental for success. In “Principles” he says “Since I was a kid, I’ve been a curious, independent thinker who ran after audacious goals.”
The February 20th Blender Entrepreneur Salon will feature renowned fashion iconoclast Nick Graham. Mr. Graham went from silk screening dollar bill images onto boxer shorts in his apartment and selling them on the street, to building Joe Boxer. Now with his own namesake Nick Graham fashion line, sold at Macy’s, Amazon, everywhere he is the very definition of having the audacity to do what you love.
Mr. Graham’s Fashion Week men's show took place in a setting decorated as Mars, with Bill Nye the Science Guy as host, and Apollo Astronaut Buzz Aldrin as an honored guest model. He dressed as Queen Elizabeth with Sir Richard Branson in Times Square to celebrate a partnership deal between Joe Boxer and Virgin Airlines. In February 2018 he will present a fashion show in Las Vegas- underwear, underwater, in a shark tank.
His stories about brand building, and being an innovator and entrepreneur will delight Blender members.
The evening’s founding curator is Larry Dvoskin. Mr. Dvoskin is a music entrepreneur who has worked with Grammy winners and stars including David Bowie, Robert Plant, MGMT, The Beach Boys. Participants will have the opportunity in round table fashion to share stories, new business opportunities, songs, ideas and network in a fun, inspiring setting.
